I am a little over 30 years old and i have been going to Mary mac's since i was an infant and my family before me. I love the food and take my children now. Some of the menu has changed a bit but not much ie almond crunch ice cream which is no longer available...I remember that the most as a child LOL. My Aunt Mary used to work down town in the 60's and 70's and early 80's this was the spot we enjoyed eating at as a family the most. The culture and history far surpasses alot of places in down town not to mention the pot liquor is the best in the world!!!! I make sure all my close friends have a chace to go and see a place so special to me from my past and have a chance to taste the amazing food we will be visiting again and again very soon. Thank you Mary Mac's for the memories and guaranteed great meal to remember for all. Submitted By: Sara Hay

I came to this restaurant right after getting married at City Hall for a little celebration with my new husband and two close friends. What a great experience, the food was good. The food was excellent and I never had fried green tomatoes, I thought they were great. Im going to send my husband back this weekend to pick up a order for me. Submitted By: lisa

It was very special because i have the same name as the resturant. I heard many stories when I was there about The Mary Mac. It was a great experience and I am begging to go back. Southern, Good food, and a GREAT name! I love Mary Mac's Tea Room Submitted By: Mary Mac Cowan

On 12/23/2005 my family & friends were having an Atlanta in town vacation day! We started at the opening of the Aquarium, lunch at the Varsity, rode the pink pig, dinner at M,M’s then to see the rockets at the Fox! We had about 40 people for dinner at M,M’s we were in the Magnolia room and Joe walks in and says,”Melissa I hear your favorite thing at M,M’s is cinnamon rolls?” She sat a plate down and in the cinnamon roll was an engagement ring and on my ticket in red ink was….”will you marry me? Love Ronnie” needless to say I said yes! Mary Mac’s will ALWAYS have a GREAT spot in my heart! Submitted By: Melissa Tatum

This is our first trip to Atlanta for fun, both of us only being here in the past for business trips. We found Mary Mac's by searching for food close to our Midtown hotel. This is the best real southern cooking I have had outside of a home in my life. Our server, Rita, was absolutely wonderful She made my husband and me feel so comfortable and made sure we had our belly full and back rubbed!!! Rita, you are a jewel!! MM is lucky to have you! When you eat here, you must try the Pot Likker and Sweet Potato Souffle. You'll never look at a sweet potato the same after this! Kathy from Tennessee Submitted By: Kathy W

We live near Pensacola, Fl. My husband goes to Emory U Hospital every 3 wks for cancer treatment. I was taken to M.M.'s for the first time recently. It was lunch time and very busy but did not take us long to be seated. Our waiter, John, was so pleasant and helpful and was happy to be sharing our first visit. The food was delicious and plentiful! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We will be returning to Atlanta soon and I will be returning for another great meal. Thank y'all so much for making me feel so at home. I wanted to pamper my two daughters on a rainy Thursday night and of course I thought of Mary Mac's. We had a great time. The food was excellent as always, so tasty and comforting, and the warm cinnamon rolls and fried green tomatoes were immediate hits. Rita was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. She was warm and chatty and kept our tea glasses filled. Of course we'll be back, it's a tradition, and we hope to sit in Rita's section when we're there. Thanks for a great quality Mom - Daughter evening! Submitted By: Marianne

I have fond memories of going to Mary Mac's with dad as a youngster. Mrs. Lupo would come by and rub my shoulders -- a greeting that was as warm and inviting as the food -- and a tradition that lives on through others to this day. Later, I'd arrive almost daily with my dad, uncle and cousin. In his later years, my uncle got the nickname "birdman" as he'd scour nearby tables for leftover bread to feed his beloved pigeons -- a quirk the staff kindly accepted. Now, I return with my family (and the board of my non-profit, when they were in town) and enjoy the same great food and warmth as John Ferrill and his staff continues the Lupo's traditional southern hospitality. I ate here twice while in the Atlanta area after hearing a recommendation from a colleague. I enjoyed the food, the historical atmosphere (I suggest purchasing the cookbook which details the history) and the friendly service. I will definitely be back when I am in the south again! P.S. I suggest the Sweet Potato Souffle and the Tomato Pie. Submitted By: Jacki Mitchell

My husband a GA native and I being from MI decided for our 8th wedding anniversary we were going to celebrate in Atlanta, this year. Friday's dinner was informal and we heard so many good things about Mary Mac's Tea Room we decided to take a chance. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST in Atlanta, I have called all of my family in MI and am anxious about their visit, we will have good food and fun at Mary Mac's. Excellent customer service, the food tastes great and the restaurant is very clean and well-kept to have survived 55+ years. I have also told my co-workers so we will order for lunch, this week. THIS IS A MUST! Submitted By: Yvonne
