I've been a customer and fan of Mary Mac's for all of my 44 years, because as a child and on into adulthood, we always celebrated my birthday, and every other important occasion, there! (the chicken pot pie was/is my favorite!) My mother had been a customer of Margaret Lupo when she had her cafe downtown near my mom's office in the 50s, so of course followed to Mary Mac's. I have very fond memories of this wonderful place in all of its iterations over the years. One time, Joe Namath came in and parked himself right at our table with us while they found him and his party a table in a more private location. Joe Namath! it has always been a place to see and be seen! I LOVE MARY MAC'S!!! Submitted By: Melanie

Our group had lunch yesterday. The private dinning room was perfect and James of your wait staff got our food fast and with a out going personality. All enjoyed our big size meals and some took home left-overs. Noticed you serve breakfast and plan to bring a group soon. I will be back. Submitted By: Bill LeMaster

I moved to Atlanta in 1993 only to discover what I had been missing all my life...Mary Mac's! Jo Carter was my first encounter and what a treat it was to have someone so wonderful to be my server. In 1999, I moved about an hour away and do not get to the city very often. However on February the 13th, 2009, my family and I came in to do some playing in the city and to my surprise... Jo is now the goodwill ambassador. It was awesome to see her so many years later still doing what she loves. By the way, if Jo was your first server at Mary Mac's and you have not been in a while, GO BACK, she'll be the first to give you a great back rub as well. You'll forget about anything else. As for me I will make it a point to dine with John, Jo and the rest of the Mary Mac's gang at least twice a month. See you soon....Kevin Welchel Submitted By: Kevin Welchel

I have been eating at Mary’s Mac's for years. I love dining in because of its uniqueness, eloquence, exemplary customer service, great price and history! One of my dreams is to have my bridal shower at Tiffany and Company. However, I plan on making reservations for my bridal shower at Mary Mac's soon! With my creativity [Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ or Kentucky Derby] theme and Mary Mac's delicious food, superb customer service and history incorporated, Mary Macs will make my bridal shower an unforgettable event:-) God Bless, Spelmanite Makeba Williams Submitted By: Makeba Williams

When our PartyLite conference was held in Atlanta in 2004, a friend of a friend told us that we had to try Mary Mac's ... it was the best recommendation we have ever received! We could not believe the hospitality, the great southern cooking, and reasonable prices! (And enough food for 2+ meals!!!) It was my first time trying many southern dishes, and I am so glad that I chose Mary Mac's! When we found out our conference was once again going to be held in Atlanta in July 2009, the first thing we all said was "We can go back to Mary Mac's!!!" I have often said that, if I had the money, I would fly to Atlanta just to go to Mary Mac's for their dessert!!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful dining experience ... we will be back this year!!! Terri Submitted By: Terri

This past week, I ate at Mary Mac's for the first time in 36 years. In 1973, I attended a 5 week training class at a company called Crawford and Company that was then located on Ponce De Leon Avenue. I still recall eating at Mary Mac's back then. The food was good, service friendly, prices reasonable. I had since traveled to Atlanta several times. This past week I was staying near the airport and decided to look up Mary Mac's on the internet. (It is a name you do not forget.) I found it and went back for dinner for the first time in 36 years this past Tuesday (20th) and Wednsday (21st). I am on an expense account and can eat at far more expensive paces. But I ate there two days in a row. The place is bigger; the food better than ever, the service excellent (my waiter was 'Greg' - very accomodating) and prices still very reasonable. I actually took home an order of cinnamon buns to my wife and daughter and they loved them. (They are tough 'restaurant critics'.) I only can say

I was in Atlanta from Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday with friends. Having lived in Atlanta for a few years in the past, I wanted all of us to have my "Birthday" lunch at Mary Mac's. The food was impeccable as I remembered. Service was outstanding. Whenever I return to Atlanta I will make Mary Mac's the one place I MUST visit on every trip! Submitted By: Jerry

It had been awhile since we had eaten at Mary Mac's. We used to hit the Fox Movies and go beforehand, just haven't done it the last 4 yrs or so. New Years Eve we went there just before going to see Derek Trucks at the Fox. This will now be our new tradition. The food is even better than I remembered it and the service is always amazing. Honestly, the best creamed corn on earth can be found at Mary Mac's! I'm not sure I've ever gotten past ordering a veggie plate. The veggies are so great I can never make the move to get one less vegetable! Submitted By: Kellie

For about 7 years now, I have taken my husband to Mary Mac's for his annual birthday lunch. We look forward to our little tradition every year and have never been disappointed. The food is wonderful and the staff are always so attentive. Mary Mac's is a fabulous southern experience not to be missed. Submitted By: The Scheuflers
